Random record find of the day: double 7” from hurl (only $2), a Pittsburgh band that sounds like jawbox/slint/other DC/louisville bands. Their bassist subbed for slint on their first reunion tour, which is pretty neat.

Nice work.  They’re really nice and talented guys.  Their later band Taking Pictures (3 of the 4 Hurl folks when they moved to Chicago) is good too and they came down to Louisville a couple times to play at 953 (which I booked) and Aslans How with Milemarker I think (which Noah was playing in at the time).  Nice find…I sold a few of their CDs at EarX a couple summers ago.  Good stuff.  I hear Mission of Burma in their tunes myself.
