Excited that I’m playing at the big fancy art museum for the first time solo computer style. The Speed Art Museum is presenting “Art After Dark” with the concept of ‘remixed’. I’m doing some new Dolphy reinterpretations (Tim is accompanying with improvised visuals) along with Ben Sollee (local cellist who is really building a name for himself) as well as the return of the For Carnation (revised lineup playing mostly covers apparently).

Should be fun! Friday, Oct. 23rd for anyone who may read this locally…

So, we’ve got 5 songs recorded. Anyone want to put out a split 7” with Six White Horses or our own 7” with 2 songs?

I’m also going to be returning to computer music at an art event at the Speed Museum here in town. It’ll be with Ben Sollee and the first performance by the For Carnation in a LONG time. Hopefully I can catch some of their set! :) Tim is helping with wicked visuals and it’s all going to go down in an awesome room. It’ll be a cool event!

School is going great and I met an awesome girl I’ve been spending a lot of time with. I’m nervous I won’t have time to prepare because I’ll be too busy snuggling with her. Hmm…

This is an old band I did with friends. It’s probably the best BAND BAND (collaborative and inventive) that I’ve been a part of. The Shining Path’s only show was fall 2001 with Black Widows (Thommy’s last show!) and Second Story Man. Good times…

This was taken from “The Show of Shows”, a short-lived, but awesome public access show.

Although you cannot tell by this video is was one of the hottest shows I have ever played. Between songs we would open the door on the right hand of the stage to let out as much hot air as we could. The room was pretty small, the stage was tiny and had the room had the worst acoustics ever - but we made it work. Watching this video again 10+ years later makes me think back on how we truly impact the weight of our potential possibilities. I believe less in talant then I do the alchemy of people.

Shedding is back!

Connor Bell’s Shedding project is back in full-effect. As Shedding has been constantly shifting stylistically from its inception, it should be of little surprise that Connor has brought together two old friends to create a lean trio for live musical exploration. And even better, you may know those two people: Joey Yates who was featured on the last Shedding album, “What God Doesn’t Bless, You Won’t Love; What You Don’t Love, The Child Won’t Know,” and Tim Furnish of Temporary Residence outfit, Parlour.

They’ve got a few shows coming up this month, and if you want to check out the details and their most recent demo go to the Shedding Facebook or MySpace pages.

To finish: keep an ear out for details on the new Shedding album “Tear In The Sun” to be released late spring / early summer. (Here’s a secret: it’s amazing!)
